Hari ini saya nak berkongsi Knit Dress yang saya jahit untuk Alya.

Today i would like to share the Knit Dress that i had sewn for Alya.

Waterfall Raglan Dress!

Ia adalah pattern yang direka oleh Gabriela daripada Chalk and Notch. 

Ini adalah PDF pattern yang boleh dibeli di kedai online Gabriela DISINI.  Untuk pattern ini, terdapat dua pilihan. Kita boleh memilih sama ada hendak dijadikan dress ataupun top. Kali ini saya memilih untuk jadikan ia sebagai dress.

This is a pattern by Gabriela from Chalk and Notch.

It is a PDF pattern that could be bought from Gabriela's online store HERE. For this pattern, there are two options. We could choose to make it as a dress or a top. I had chosen to make it as a dress.

Sudah lama saya ingin mencuba untuk menjahit dress ini. Tetapi disebabkan kesibukan dengan pelbagai program anak-anak saya tak sempat walaupun telah membeli pattern/pola ini apabila pattern ini mula-mula dikeluarkan di pasaran.

Saya suka dengan pola Waterfal Raglan ini kerana ia memberikan option untuk mix and match fabrik. Untuk dress Alya ini, saya gunakan fabrik yang sama untuk bahagian lengan dan bodice. Untuk bahagian ruffle, pocket dan juga leher saya gunakan fabrik berwarna kelabu. Kesemua fabrik yang digunakan untuk Waterfall Raglan Dress ini saya dapatkan daripada Spotlight Malaysia.

Selain itu, ia juga terdapat option pilihan untuk lengan pendek, 3/4 dan juga lengan panjang! How cool is that!? Banyak pilihan daripada satu pattern/pola!

I had been longing to sew this dress for quite some time, but never had the chance, although the pattern was bought at the time it was first released online, as I was busy with various activities with my children.

 I love this Waterfall Raglan pattern because it gives me options to mix and match the fabric. For Alya's dress, I used the same fabric for the sleeve and bodice. For the ruffle, pocket and neckband, I used a dark grey fabric. All the fabric used for the Waterfall Raglan Dress were sourced from Spotlight Malaysia.

In addition, the are options for the sleeves;short, 3.4 or long. How cool is that !? There are a lot of options on a single pattern!

Pola Waterfall Raglan ini mempunyai pilihan sama ada hendakkan poket ataupun tidak. Untuk Alya, saya memilih untuk mencuba pilihan berpoket. Saya sangat bersyukur dengan pilihan ini, nampaknya Alya suka dengan poket. Semasa sesi bergambar, Alya sibuk meletakkan bunga-bunga kecil ke dalam poket... hehehe.

Untuk hemming bahagian ruffle dan lengan, saya telah menggunakan "twin needles". Ini adalah kali pertama saya menjahit menggunakan jarum berkembar. Saya sangat suka dengan jarum ini. Ia menampakkan hasil yang sangat profesional pada handmade dress saya.

The Waterfall Raglan pattern also have the option to include pockets. I chose to include this on Alya's dress. I am so grateful for the option as Alya seems to love the pockets soo much. During the photoshoot, she was busy filling them up with tiny flowers...hehehe.

I used twin needles to hem the ruffle and sleeves. This is my first time using the needles; I love them to bits! In my opinion, it gives a professional look to the handmade dress.

Minggu sebelum photoshoot ini, Alya telah pun eksperimen menggunting rambutnya sendiri. Disebabkan terlau pendek rambutnya di sebelah kiri, saya terpaksa sediakan hairband untuk menutup bahagian rambut yang bercapuk tu...hehehe.

The week before the photoshoot, Alya expremented with a pair of scissors and had cut quite a sizable portion of her hair! Because it was quite obvious on the left side of the head, I had to make a hairband to cover it up...hehehe 

Twirling effect: Checked!!!

Waterfall Raglan dress ini sangat selesa untuk dipakai. Sesuai dengan cuaca Malaysia yang panas dan lembap. Sangat roomy dan yang penting sekali ia sangat girlish dengan ruffle yang sangat comel.

Saya juga telah menjahit lagi satu Waterfall Raglan Dress untuk Aisya. Saya akan berkongsi dress yang seterusnya di post akan datang.

The Waterfall Raglan dress is so comfortable to wear. It is suitable for the hot and humid weather of Malaysia. The dress is roomy and most importantly, girlish due to the cute ruffles.

I had also sewn another Waterfall Raglan Dress for Aisya. I will share the details in my next post.
